Areas of Expertise
The bulk of my training has been in the area of cognitive and
behavioral techniques to address mood disorders, anxiety, sexual
abuse, eating disorders, opposition/defiance, and substance abuse.
Philosophy
It is important for you to know how I practice therapy before we
start working together. I do not see myself as someone who
can "fix" people’s problems. I believe therapy is a collaborative effort between a client and a therapist. I have no power to change anything in your life, only to help you make those changes for yourself. Remember that if you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten. In order for your therapy to be successful, you will need to actively participate, both in and out of the therapy sessions, in changing any existing patterns that are not working well for you. I will use several established therapy approaches in working with you and your family. I also use educational approaches to therapy. In family therapy, this may involve education about respected parenting techniques or specific issues occurring in your family. It may also involve creating new behavior plans to deal with difficult behaviors.
Fees and Payment
Individual counseling sessions are scheduled for 50 minutes
at a charge of $110. The initial session is $125. Payments
can be made in cash, check or credit card. I accept most
insurance and you are responsible for your co-pay at the time of service.
Office Hours
I am available for appointments in the evenings
and Friday afternoons. Appointments can only be made by contacting me directly. |
